Pretend you are running for president. Write a campaign slogan that you could put on a poster. It should include your name and tell people to vote for you. You can use rhyme, alliteration (starting words with the same letter) or a fun theme (American eagles, flags or fireworks for example).

Legend has it that groundhogs can predict whether we’ll have a long winter or an early spring. The tradition is based on the animal’s instincts and reaction to nature.

Make up your own legend involving another animal.
1. Identify your chosen animal.
2. List at least 5 of the animal’s traits or habits.
3. Using one or more of those attributes, create your own legend regarding that animal’s special powers that people should celebrate.
