Video Writing Prompt: Stanley Cup Parade

In late June, the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team defeated the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup trophy, professional hockey’s greatest achievement.

Later that same week, millions of people swarmed downtown Chicago to help the team celebrate their win. Many people wore red, the Blackhawks team color, and cheered loudly to emphasize their happiness. The team rode on buses through the crowded streets, showing off the prized Stanley Cup to the celebrating masses of people.

Write a paragraph about your favorite sports moment, either one you played or one you watched on television.

Grades 6-8

Write a one-page paper about your favorite sport. Name some of your favorite players. Why do yopu prefer that sport over others?

Write a one-page paper examining how sporting events can unite people.
