Kealakehe High School in Kailua-Kona was forced to close Friday when a brawl broke out among 20 to 30 students.
There were no serious injuries after the incident, but 8 students were arrested for their involvement. Officials have blamed the brawl on racial tensions, escalating over a series of smaller fights last week. The school was closed to give administrators and teachers time to figure out how to control the problems with unruly students.
