Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 Video Writing Prompts

Patty Murray

In the final installment of the wildly popular Twilight Saga, the Cullens are fighting to protect their newest family member, Edward and Bella's daughter, Renesme. They find themselves needing to reach out to their allies as well as those who had previously sought to destroy them.

In this video writing prompt, we ask students to reflect on how they have worked cooperatively with others they didn't know very well in order to resolve conflict. There are also some activities for grades K-5 to give them an opportunity to use their imaginations.

K-2: Imaginary Creatures
The Twilight series is about families of werewolves and vampires.  Both werewolves and vampires do not exist in real life.

Think of another creature that does not exist in real life.  On a sheet of paper, write the name of the creature and draw a picture of it.
If you can't think of one, make up one of your own!
3-5: Name Your Super Power
In this movie, the vampire character Edward is able to read people’s mind, and many other characters have super powers too.

If you could have a super power, what would you want it to be? What would you do with your super power?  Write at least one paragraph describing your answer.

6-8 Working Together
Think of a time you had to work with someone you didn’t know very well or felt you didn’t have a lot in common with. How did you break through that initial barrier? What did you learn about the other person? Did you remain friendly after the assignment was over?

9-12 Conflict resolution
In the Twilight Saga, the Cullens have to face the “leaders” of the vampires, the Volturi. Talk about one conflict you’ve had and how you dealt with it. How have you used that experience to deal with other conflicts as they’ve arisen? If you had to face that issue again, would you handle it the same or differently?
