How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
It started when I was in the first grade. My parents tell me that I came home from school during just the second week of first grade and told them I wanted to be a first grade teacher just like Miss Peggy. I always wanted to help students learn to read and find a love for learning just like she had done for myself and so many other lives she touched. I actually got to fulfill that dream. I am know teaching first grade at Eagleville School where Miss Peggy taught me.

What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

I would love to be able to write a novel, be a travel agent, or be a counselor.

Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity.

My favorite lesson/ unit is on To Kill a Mockingbird because there are so many wonderful ways that you can relate the themes to the students' lives and hopefully somewhere along the way teach tolerance and compassion.

Who was your favorite teacher? Why?

Mark Medley was my high school wellness teacher and my football coach. Coach Medley instilled in me the "building blocks" of life: God, Family, Education and everything else will take care of itself.

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
When I was in college and realized that part of the reason I was there was because I had a teacher/coach that cared enough about me as an

individual to discipline me and help me understand that education is a necessity.

Teaching Motto: Everyone can learn with a little motivation and a lot of laughter :-)

What are three things every teacher should own?

2. A sense of humor
3. Colorful pens

What stereotype about teachers is true?
