What stereotype about teachers is true?

I think the stereotype that is true is that teachers are part kids themselves. To reach your students you have to affiliate with them.

If you could have any person (living, dead or fictional) as a principal, who would it be?
Joe Clark from the Lean on Me movie. What he did in Paterson was amazing. He is a great motivator for the students and their parents and didn't accept less then the best from anyone including himself.

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
I've wanted to be a teacher ever since I started watching Little House on the Prairie as a child. I wanted to be just like the teachers in the show. One day I would be Laura teaching in Walnut Grove and the next I was Mary teaching in the blind school!

Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity.
My favorite unit to teach is on cell structure. There are so many different ways to represent and explain the cells inside our bodies. It's an easy unit to get my students invested in!

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?
I knew that I really wanted to be a teacher when I finished community college and realized I wanted to have a career where I could hopefully make a difference in someones life instead of making money for some corporation. I have always loved science and had some amazing science teachers so I knew I wanted to teach biology. Here I am doing what I love!
