If you could have any person (living, dead or fictional) as a principal, who would it be?

I tend to believe that when given a proper example, people rise to high expectations.  Theodore Roosevelt was just such a man.

I'm not saying that he would be the easiest person to work for and, now that I'm thinking about it, faculty meetings would probably be very frightening.  Despite that, he was a person of principle.

Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity.

As a Geometry teacher, I really like teaching right triangle trigonometry. After learning about the tangent relationship, we go outside and measure the height of the building and a couple other object heights using a class made clinometer. This makes the trig come alive for the students.

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

I believe it was when I was 7 and starting playing school at home. I just loved making report cards for some reason!

What are three things every teacher should own?

Three things every teacher should own are: a stool, colorful pens, and his/her own look!

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

I knew I wanted to be a teacher because I didn't want students to go through the same type of education as I did. I struggled in my classes as a child and no one seemed to be able to help me. I want to be the kind of teacher who can reach her students, who listens, and who understands. I believe I can make a difference in many children's lives today.

Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell. How cool was that guy?

What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

There are so many! I would love to be a flight attendant. It would be so cool to travel all the time and I love being in airports (weird, I know!).

Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity.
I present a lesson each year on the different levels of infinity. It’s part of a set theory unit that I teach to seventh graders. It opens up a whole new world of strange math to them and they love entering said world.

What are three things a teacher should own?
A great sense of humor
A really cool vanity license plate
A skateboard (for getting around & keeping you on the young side)
