St. Anne School

Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada

What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

Civil Servant. I would only want another career that would allow me to give back to my community on a daily basis.

Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity.

My all-time favorite lesson is my video interpretation of a poem. Students choose any poem and have to create a video interpretation that outlines the emotional meaning of the poem. It teaches comprehension and creativity. It also helps that I teach film making so the videos look pretty professional.

What is the greatest misconception about teachers?

Our job is easy.  YEAH RIGHT!!  We have one of the hardest jobs and people don't give us enough credit. Although, at the end of the day, seeing those students learn means more to me than what people think about our jobs.
