6-8: The Fun of Personification

Much of the humor in Puss in Boots is a result of personification. This cat is behaving like a human hero, but he is still a cat. Most of the jokes in the trailer address this.

Why do you think it is funnier to have a cat hero than a human hero? Use examples from the trailer of “cat humor” to support your answer.

9-12: Chasing Legendary Treasure

The adventure in the movie is created by the characters chasing treasure based on a legend. You will need to unleash your creativity to come up with your own legend for this creative writing activity.

First, brainstorm a treasure for your hero to seek, a location where it can be found and obstacles that will stand in the way of your hero finding the treasure.

Once you've decided on these plot essentials, compose your legend in the form of a letter to the hero. Describe the details and ask for his/her help in finding the treasure.
