Mr. Gerry Karol, my third grade teacher.  He was fair, firm, and fun!

Patience, plenty of tissues, and cultural sensitivity!

Oprah Winfrey...she is AWESOME!


What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?


A professional singer, I love music!


Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity


A literacy unit on social Issues. Great reflection, insight and discussion from my students each and every time we do it. Once students are clear what social issues are, the critical thinking skills kick in like never before! It's like opening Pandora's Box...all kinds of discovery is unleashed.


What is the greatest misconception about teachers?


We have it easy and we take summers off.


What stereotype about teachers is true?


That we are overworked and underpaid.


How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

 

When I realized that I couldn't see myself working the job I had prior to teaching for the rest of my life.
