Who was your favorite teacher? Why?

Ms. Marggi, my 10th grade English teacher. She was amazing! Ms. Marggi introduced me to Shakespeare and how to interpret his writing. She made me realize how important great teachers are to education!

What are three things every teacher should own?

Every teacher should own art supplies, an extensive library, and a journal.

If you could have any person (living, dead or fictional) as a principal, who would it be?

Dr. Seuss would make an excellent principal. Reading and writing would be the top priority while maintaining a level of creativity with learning.

What profession other than your own would you most like to attempt?

I would like to try being an actress. My students tell me all the time I have a million facial expressions and I am entertaining.

Describe your all-time favorite lesson/unit activity

My favorite lessons incorporate art with reading analysis. Hands-on activities are the best way for students to show their understanding of literary themes and concepts.

What is the greatest misconception about teachers?

The greatest misconception is that anyone can become a teacher. This is not true. If you do not have the students' best interest at heart, then you will be a terrible teacher.

What stereotype about teachers is true?

We love having the summer off.

How did you know you wanted to be a teacher?

I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was helping all of my peers in high school interpret Shakespearean literature. I loved explaining literature and having conversations about various meanings of text.
