Teaching Motto: Git 'R Done
My high school Biology teacher, Mr. Highfield. He seemed to take an interest in me, and even thought that I was semi-smart=) That really was the first time a teacher made me feel good about myself...and that was my junior year of high school!
A good pencil sharpener; A laptop; An evil eye that can be employed in a moment's notice.
Andy Griffith...who in the world would be more sympathetic and fair? Love him! Props to Lara Gilpin, my current (and lovely) principal =)
Stay-at-home mom, chef, nurse, writer, librarian, speaker, gardener, coach, beach bum...I'll be busy in retirement =)
I love, love, love my lesson based on Sandra Cisnernos's vignette, "Hairs". Figurative language galore!
That we are paid for our summer vacations...don't even go there!
That we shush and correct random children in public. I've been known to ask a teenager to take his hoodie off his head in the mall--it really was a knee-jerk reaction =)
I didn't know until late...I was going to law school. Everyone kept telling me what a great teacher I would make. I don't know if I'm great, but I sure do enjoy my job, and I think my kids can see that everyday. And, who needs $250 an hour anyway?
