K-2: Sea Creature
What is your favorite sea creature? Draw a picture of it and write its name underneath the picture.
What do you know about this animal? Write a sentence describing it. Then, write a sentence about why you like it better than any other sea creature.
3-5: Animals as Friends
Can an animal be as good a friend to you as a person? Why or why not?
6-8: Finding Inspiration
This movie is based on a true story. In fact, Winter, the dolphin in the movie, is the actual dolphin who lost her tail.
How can this story of survival and people coming together to do the impossible inspire you? What is an obstacle in your life that seems impossible? What can you do to try to overcome that obstacle?
As you can see from Dolphin Tale, they have to reach out to others and ask for help to make their goal a reality. Who can you ask for help?
9-12: Animal Rights
Dolphin Tale tells a story about a few individuals going above and beyond to save one animal. As a society, though, we often put the priorities of people and business before those of animals and the environment.
Identify an example of "animal rights" being violated for the good of people. Explain why this was/is the right or wrong choice.
