25 Things I Miss About Being a Student |
|
Gathered with the help of friends!
2. Reading lists – all of my favorite books are ones I never would have read unless assigned
3. Having all your friends there with you every day
4. Grading – turns out, in real life, it’s not as easy to gauge success and know whether or not you got the right answer
5. Engaging in intelligent discussions about 7 drastically different topics everyday
6. Organized sports (though I severely lacked school spirit, I now realize how nice it was to play sports without any planning, finding leagues, etc.)
7. Creative projects like the feudalism project in my sophomore year world history class. We had to play our parts all day. I was a knight, so I wrote “tickets” to any surfs living outside their social status. (At the time, I hated that class because it was so much work – we had to write an entire text book in groups of two, yikes – but it really was challenging, engaging and fun).
8. Sitting in the back of the class
9. (As a Catholic school go-er) the simplicity of a uniform
10. Proudly bringing my homework or class projects home to my parents. No one ever puts my performance reviews up on the fridge.
11. I miss nothing about being a student in school. Because I teach, I continue to be a student in the broadest sense of the word (nancydevine via twitter)
12. Hallway crushes (Julie)
13. A ready resource for things you didn’t understand (as in teachers always there to help) (Julie)
