One word: karaoke.
You know the party is hitting a crescendo when the quietest guy at the office breaks out Huey Lewis and the News "Stuck with You." Before that moment, most of us had never even heard him talk and now he was belting it out and putting the mike out to the crowd like a rock star.
Of course, that was topped off by a little "Baby Got Back," a karaoke stable since '92, "Benny and the Jets" and a white boy singing "Hey Ya"...Outkast would have been proud.
My personal favorite was when the big boss sang Ricky Martin's "She Bangs." That song has everything you could asked for from a karaoke song: awkward lyrics, unexpected option but recognizable and a beat that begs for dancin'.
Surprisingly, Ricky Martin imparts a fitting warning to remember before your next work party: [Work parties] look like a flower but [they] sting like a bee...
