The child is dressed in a Darth Vader costume. Darth Vader is the villain character in the Star Wars movies. Can you think of another movie villain? Draw a picture of that villain or create a villain of your own to draw.

 

3-5: Power of the Mind

This little Darth Vader is trying to make things happen using only his mind. If you could move objects with your mind, how would that come in handy? Write down five ways moving objects with your mind would make a typical day in your life easier.

6-8: Advertising for Education

All commercials are used to persuade people to like and want a product. Pretend that you have been tasked to make a commercial for “succeeding in school.” How would you get the attention of your audience and persuade them to like school and try their hardest?


Step 1: Brainstorm at least 5 reasons why it is important to do well in school
Step 2: Use these “selling points” to think of a commercial idea
Step 3: Explain the general idea for your “Succeed in School” commercial

 

Bonus: Turn this into a full-fledged project by having students can pitch their commercial ideas and/or make their own ads.


9-12: Predicting Technologies

Many of the imagined technologies in movies now exist. What do you think will be the next big technological innovation?

 

Brainstorm 5 potential technologies for the future. Feel free to use futuristic films and fiction to inspire you.
